National Airlines has been working closely with local and federal government authorities as well as various international companies in the global effort to bring back a sense of normalcy to the world. Air cargo plays an essential role in connecting goods to service providers when timing is critical. Working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the President’s Coronavirus Task Force on Project Airbridge, National Airlines is using all available resources to support our front-line responders.
“The world is in turmoil dealing with the outbreak of corona virus, and our company is playing an extremely critical key role in the sustainability of the world population.” Said Chris Alf, Chairman of National Air Cargo Group Inc.
The White House’s Project Airbridge is a funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to use the resources of privately own companies. National Airline’s Fleet of Boeing 747-400 configured for cargo operations have completed various flights in the recent weeks bringing supplies to various destinations within North America. With the current high demand for medical supplies, National Airlines has sent their Boeing 757-200 configured for private passenger charter flights on a mission to Incheon, South Korea. The objective is to assist in the collaborative effort in bringing back essential medical supplies to the United States of America.
The Boeing 757-200 large spacious cabin and belly were perfect for carrying 920 boxes each carrying N95 Masks. With a total of over 147,000 masks needing to be placed strategically within the aircraft, it took a team of 15 individuals and the on-board Loadmaster to load the hundreds of boxes. The first delivery of essential cargo will be flying into Pittsburgh International Airport on Saturday April 25th with the second delivery scheduled to arrive on Monday April 27th. FEMA has informed officials that these supplies will be distributed primarily to hospitals, nursing homes and other various high-risk areas and facilities.
